Who is Brahma Chellaney?
- Brahma Chellaney is a Professor of Strategic Studies at the New Delhi- based Centre for Policy Research, an independent think-tank.
- Formerly a Member of the Policy Advisory Group headed by the External Affairs Minister of India.
- He has been a Fellow at the Norwegian Nobel Institute, which through the Nobel Committee awards the Nobel Peace Prize annually.
Why this award is given?
- Asia Society Bernard Schwartz Book Award is the only award that is given to authors of non-fiction books for their outstanding contributions to the understanding of contemporary Asia or US-Asia relations as well as possible policy impacts relating to the region.
